A celebration of reading to kick-off the SunLit Festival with stories, music, food, fun, bounce house, face painting, and a special appearance by Cat In The Hat and Thing 1 and Thing 2! For everyone.
Also, MUSE Award artist, Ya La'ford will be creating a Community Literacy Mural with children in our community to paint a mural named "Lift Every WORD and READ"! This permanent Community Literacy Mural is a visual and interactive artistic translation of James Weldon Johnson’s anthem “Lift Every Voice and Sing” on the wall of the James Weldon Johnson Community Library.
